CSM prayer diary  - 2008

Week Beginning 27th April

"Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of their world and their splendour. 'All this I will give you,' he said, 'if you will bow down and worship me.' "  (Matt.4, verses 8-9).

  • For Ministers and officials responsible for making, enacting and delivering policies that promote international co-operation at every level.
  • For diplomats who represent our best interests throughout the world.
  • For the UN and other international agencies whose task it is to maintain stability between the nations.
  • For individuals denied basic human rights because of the policies of their Govt.
  • For a commitment to, where possible, live at peace yet also to confront injustice without fear or favour.

Week Beginning 3rd May

"When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armour in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils." (Luke 11, verses 21-22).

  • For Ministers and officials responsible for making, enacting and delivering policies intended to keep us safe and secure.
  • For those who work within the security services.
  • For those who have been granted asylum, and for those seeking asylum.
  • For those persecuted because of their race, colour, ethnicity, nationality or religion.
  • For a commitment to ensuring that we are all enabled to live in harmony with each other.
