“DEVIL IN THE DETAIL” – An Economics Workshop enabling informed protest and debate.
Are you one of the many people who know in your guts that the global economic system needs to change? But do you struggle to grasp its incredible complexity, lacking the confidence to make your arguments in the public square? Then “Devil in the Detail” is for you. It is an interactive training day from economic experts Ann Pettifor and Douglas Coe from PRIME economics – www.primeeconomics.org
They will cover the basics of how the global economic system operates such as the concept of money, credit creation, and myths about growth. There will be theological underpinning to the concepts shared. They will also chart the course of the last 50 years, explaining where things have gone badly wrong and why. There will also be input to help you understand the present political challenges, including the Eurozone crisis.
There will also be opportunities to roleplay media situations such as radio interviews and blogging responses.
Andy Flannagan said, “Without days like this, we will continue as a passionate, but unskilled, merry band of pilgrims, not making the impact we could on economic policy. Surely it falls to us to dig a bit deeper into the theory to be part of re-educating a nation about some of the tools of injustice.”
The cost of the day will be £25 to non-members and £15 to CSM members. If you sign up for membership before the event, you can get the reduced rate.
