CAMPAIGNING WITH THE AUSTRALIAN LABOR PARTY
Some key members of the Australian Labor party made the trip to Luton South on Wed 28th April with Andy Flannagan and CSM executive member Ian Geary to campaign for Gavin Shuker.
They were connecting with CSM to better understand what we do and whether a similar structure could work in Australia. We thought the best way for them to understand us was to see many of our members working on the ground in Luton! We also had incredibly useful discussions.
Andy Flannagan had previously made links with Australian Labor members on his speaking trips to Australia, so this was a very useful continuation of relationship-building and an exploration of where we could do some mutual learning and assistance.
One thing to note in the photo is that on Wednesday we were delivering DVDs not leaflets to the constituency. The technical expertise of many of the CSM members is enabling Gavin to connect with voters in a fresh way, including sparking the interest of previous non-voters and young voters. Also pictured is Luton North MP Kelvin Hopkins, who is working with Gavin on the DVD project.
