How to setup a Hustings Meeting
Are you considering organising a hustings meeting? For the past 35 years churches across the country have joined together to run hustings – public meetings where people can listen to and ask questions of their election candidates who hope to represent them in the UK Parliament. Meeting sponsored by the churches help to provide opportunities for genuine political debate on neutral territory.
This guidance, provided by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, offers information and advice on how to plan such a meeting locally. Suggestions are based on the experiences of people who have organised hustings in the past.
