Almost 40 years ago, world leaders promised to help lift the world’s poorest out of poverty by spending just 0.7% of their Gross National Income on aid. Labour is tripling their aid budget and is committed to reaching the 0.7% target by 2013.

Now they want to make their promise a reality by turning it into a binding law.
