By Tom Quinn
"For me, my faith naturally leads me to involvement in politics. I read in Scripture countless references to God’s heart for the poor, his love of justice and his hope for the marginalised, and I read too, of His call for me to love my neighbour as myself, and I am convinced of my responsibility to those less fortunate than myself. There are other ways to bring help to the needy but none are as widespread and as impacting as politics, and no other means can bring radical transformation in quite the same way.
I am a member of CSM because I believe that the political left is the best place to fulfill the causes of equality and justice and hope for all that I care so deeply about. I am passionate that young Christians who want to be change-makers in their communities get involved in politics and so I have founded Young CSM, to support Christians under 30 in politics, but also to reach out to Christians disaffected by party politics but hungry to make a difference in the world."
